I started this Video Blog because I have a passion for Living Well. I’m the publisher of Live Fit Magazine, an online Web TV. But really this is about connecting with people to teach and learn from others about how to not only look good but also feel good. I’m in my 40s and I did all those diets and workout routines but the one that I have found works the best is a whole-food, mostly plant-based diet. But before I found this health regimen, I suffered quite a bit from too much antibiotics when I was in my 20s (I was a newscaster and when I got the slightest cough, I’d get antibiotics so I could still be on the air–crazy! That stuff is so bad for you). Don’t get me wrong, there’s a place for Western medicine, however, you’ll see, I’m a holistic, do-it-natural-if-you-can kind of girl.
I know you’re probably thinking wow! How do you eat like that or what do you eat? Or maybe you’re thinking I’m totally into this. If so, that’s awesome. I started studying nutrition about a decade ago when my dad died of prostate cancer at the premature age of 72. I tried my hardest to save him but I didn’t know what I know today about diet and the link to dis-eases like cancer.
We don’t have to die a painful death like I saw with my dad. We can instead grow old gracefully and enjoy a healthy life today…it all depends on what you do now. So, here, as I learn new things about Living Well and Keeping Fit (oh, btw, I had a fitness segment on ABC in San Diego for 10 years, so that’s where the Keep Fit With Phoebe name comes from)–anyway, I’ll share tips, recipes, and even studies with you so we can all Live well and Keep Fit!
